At Shoreside Dentistry, we believe in doing what’s right, simple as that. Our mission is to combine honest, high-quality care with a warm, approachable atmosphere that makes patients feel truly seen and supported. Located in the heart of South Tampa, our practice stands apart by being insurance-friendly, results-focused, and rooted in community.

Dr. Macy McElwaney, DMD

Dr. Macy McElwaney knew from early on that dentistry was the perfect fit, a career that blends the precision of science with the creativity of art. Born and raised just one mile from the practice, Dr. Macy has a deep love for Tampa and feels honored to care for the community she grew up in. She brings an empathetic, down-to-earth approach to dentistry that makes patients feel at ease, respected, and understood.
She attended St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School and H.B. Plant High School, schools familiar to many Tampa locals, and went on to earn her BS in Biology from the University of Florida, along with a minor in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership. Her dental degree is from LECOM School of Dental Medicine, and she’s been practicing for more than six years. She is always in pursuit of the latest advancements in dentistry, and is dedicated to continued education. She is a student of Dr. Gordon Christensen's Practical Clinical Courses, and travels for hands-on training in new methods and materials, showing her commitment to providing her patients with the best care possible.
For Dr. Macy, dentistry is more than a profession, it’s personal. She loves procedures that make a big impact on health and confidence, like crowns, bridges, extractions, and root canals. Some days she calls it “arts and crafts for smiles,” a reflection of her passion for the hands-on, artistic side of the job.
What truly sets her apart is her ability to connect. Patients appreciate her warmth, attentiveness, and honest communication. She’s the kind of dentist who listens first, works collaboratively, and helps people feel empowered in their care.
Beyond the practice, Dr. Macy spends her time cheering on the Gators, exploring Tampa with her husband David and son Jack, enjoying dinners out with friends, and snuggling her lovable Goldendoodle, Wally.

You’ll receive a comprehensive exam and any necessary X-rays, plus plenty of time to ask questions and get to know your dentist.
